Come with me on the 240-mile return journey from Manchester back to the sleepy town of Sherborne. This time, we start during twilight and watch the sun quickly descend... plunging us into darkness as we travel the hypnotic motorways almost entirely alone. No talking and no music, just the sound of the road! Starting in Manchester, we slowly make our way through traffic onto the M60, before briefly crossing onto the M56 and then spending nearly 200 miles on the empty and exceptionally dark M6 and M5. As we enter Somerset and approach Bridgwater, we hop off the main routes and begin to navigate the winding backroads in an attempt to dodge recent floods, before safely arriving in Sherborne. This is the return leg of the daytime Sherborne to Manchester video, and I edited the audio slightly differently – raising the lower frequencies (like the engine) and reducing the higher frequencies (like the roar of the tyres on the motorway).
