Cuban cigars are world-famous for their exceptional quality, but that prestige comes at a high price. The main reason lies in their craftsmanship and tradition. Every genuine Cuban cigar is made by hand in Cuba, using techniques passed down for generations. Skilled workers, known as torcedores, carefully roll each cigar using only the finest tobacco leaves grown in the country’s rich, red soil—especially in the Vuelta Abajo region, which is considered one of the best tobacco-growing areas on Earth. The tobacco used in Cuban cigars also undergoes a long and delicate process. The leaves are fermented, aged, and cured for months or even years to achieve the perfect flavor, aroma, and smoothness. This time-consuming process ensures top quality, but it also increases production costs. Another factor is scarcity and demand. Due to strict U.S. trade restrictions and Cuba’s limited production capacity, authentic Cuban cigars are harder to find, making them even more desirable among collectors and cigar lovers.
