The Japan Day (Japan-Tag/日本デー) is a yearly festival taking place in May or June celebrating Japanese culture and the special relationship between the city of Düsseldorf and its Japanese community. It attracts many visitors every year, especially anime/manga fans and cosplayers. In this video you will see Immermannstraße (インマーマン通り) on this special day, a street in Düsseldorf's "Little Tokyo" area, which is home to many Japanese companies and offers Japanese restaurants, bakeries, manga and book stores among other things. Also called "Nippon on the Rhine" it is the only Japantown in Germany. Since 2021 also street signs in this area are bilingual, showing both the German and Japanese street names as you can see in the beginning of my video. Because of this it is a popular place for all Japan fans, cosplayers and anime/manga fans to visit.
