ABOUT THIS FILM _____________________ The European hare is an iconic species up here in the Yorkshire Wolds. These animals are normally solitary and so if you spot more than one together there's a chance they are courting. Hares racing The females will encourage males to chase her, often choosing her mate from the winners of the race. Winter hares One of the best times to spot this behaviour is when it is snowing, when these animals are visible against a white backdrop. Hare painting I've tried to capture the energy of hare courtship race in this painting. Watch as I complete it from the basic outline to the fine detail. Using acrylic paint, I add my colours in layers. I hope you’ve enjoyed watching this process.
