In the Reading Room, I read books. Sometimes, reading is straight-forward, particularly when it is a fiction book. Nevertheless, you should expect some commentary, even though it is very little for some books. Still, I find it refreshing to hear a story, so The Reading Room has been a staple in my CLASSROOM since the beginning of THE CLASSROOM in 2023. I've been doing my Healthy Mind Body Spirit podcast on YouTube since 2020. From the back of the book: Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860 - 1904) A Russian physician short-story writer and playwright, wrote hundreds of stories that delved beneath the surface of Russian society, exposing the hidden motives of his characters and the ways in which prevailing social forces influenced their lives. This collection contains five of his most highly regarded stories, all from his maturity, and set in a variety of Tsarist Russian milieus. Included are "The black Monk" (1894), "The House with the Mezzanine" (1896), "the Peasants" (1897), "Gooseberries" (1898) and "the Lady with the Toy Dog" (1899). In these incisive tales, readers will discover ;a master of character, nuance and setting developing the basic themes of his oeuvre: The sociological and psychological obstacles in the way of human affection and satisfactory development of the personality. Unabridged Dover (1990). Representatives at Oakland University have recently challenged my teaching by accusing me of being mentally unfit without evidence and overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I believe this to be unconscionable. They have taken this course in order to suppress voices that speak out against their unethical data collection by making university data readily available to companies like Amazon and then allowing mischaracterizations of the mental health of a thirteen-year, award winning, veteran teacher for speaking out. I also speak out against university research and development of dangerous drugs they label as medication and continue to use taxpayer dollars to develop pharmaceutical drugs that have a proven reputation of creating extreme health risks including death. Please support my efforts to speak out against those corporate, university, medical, and law enforcement criminals that continue to support injustice and a healthcare system that has demonstrated it is broken by continuously getting humans more and more mentally and physically ill and addicted. Dr. Annette Feravich has a Ph.D. in Social, Developmental and Cognitive Psychology with an emphasis on Positive Psychology. Positive Psychology is the science that studies specific behaviors that result in good mental (Cognitive), physical (Developmental) and spiritual (Social) health. I received my Ph.D. in May, 2010 from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. I've been teaching at all levels from kindergarten through college for over 20 years.
