Photographers, today I’m finally sharing something I don’t usually talk about — my secret selection process and how I REALLY choose the best photos in a session. And yes… I use Adobe Bridge. After every shoot, the first thing I do is import everything into Adobe Bridge. I don’t start deleting straight away. That’s a mistake many photographers make. Instead, I do a fast first pass. I go through the images quickly and trust my gut. If an image immediately stands out — sharp eyes, strong emotion, beautiful light — it gets a star rating. No overthinking. On the second pass, I slow down. This is where Adobe Bridge becomes powerful. I zoom in to check focus (especially on the eyes), facial expressions, hand placement, and small distractions in the background. If the emotion feels authentic and the composition is strong, it stays. If something feels “almost good,” it usually goes. I’ve learned that “almost” images weaken a final gallery. My third step is consistency. I look at the selected images together in Bridge using the preview mode. Do they tell a story? Are the tones and angles cohesive? Am I repeating the same pose too many times? This part is crucial. A strong gallery isn’t just about individual great photos — it’s about flow. One of my biggest rules: quality over quantity. Clients don’t need 300 average images. They need 50–80 powerful ones that make them feel something. Adobe Bridge helps me stay fast, organized, and objective. No heavy cataloging, no lag — just clean, efficient culling. At the end of the day, choosing the best photos isn’t about perfection. It’s about emotion, connection, and impact.
