The board angle and front height provide for a comfortable typing experience. The mounting system brings a familiar "gasket" sound profile and typing feel to whatever build configuration you end up going with. POM Plate Thoughts: This plate has a soft and comfortable bottom out while providing a lower-pitched clack. It is also has a subtle bounce to it. If you enjoy a gentle, flexible typing experience and vibrant pops, I would recommend pairing some linear switches with this plate. Aluminum Plate Thoughts: This plate is on the firm side but still has a bit of give to it, compared to harder materials like brass and steel. Aluminum is widely considered a midpoint and for good reason. The plate offers some flexibility while really bringing out the bottom-out sound of the switch. It does a good job of letting the switches sing and provides a comfy typing feel even for long periods. Brass Plate Thoughts: Out of all plate options, brass definitely produces the most melodic sound signature due to how dense it is. As such, the switches lose a bit of innate vibrancy due to the brass plate dominating with a high-pitched sound profile. The typing feel is rigid as expected with virtually no flex, though the gaskets do soften this by a touch. Carbon Steel Plate Thoughts: Immediately, the sound profile strikes me as a mid-point between aluminum and brass, with the bottom out being a little harsher than brass. I also noticed that this plate material is quite loud. From my experience, the harder plates tend to make the switch sound flatter. Very little flex here, and a consistently-rigid typing experience. #Keyboard #Retooledblacks #Charon
