When I was 18, I had an ROTC appointment to Embry Riddle Aeronautical Academy. The idea was that I was going to be a Navy pilot. Everything was set except for one thing: you have to pass a commercial flight physical to be a military pilot. The doctor who performed the physical got through the entire process and had signed the form saying that I'd passed before he remembered that he had to test me for color deficiency. When you watch this video, you'll get some idea of what happened next. R/G deficients trace the line connecting purple and bluish-green. Color blindness and color-weakness cannot trace a line. 16:44 Plate 24 - Everyone sees the correct line. I've realized that the line-tracing tests are to make it possible to catch people who try to memorize the book.
