Let’s talk about the HSG test—also known as a hysterosalpingogram. If you’re trying to conceive and your doctor wants to check your fallopian tubes, this is a common test they’ll order. An HSG is an X-ray procedure that looks at your uterus and fallopian tubes. During the test, a special dye is gently inserted through the cervix, and X-ray images are taken to see if the tubes are open or blocked, and to check the shape of the uterus. It usually takes about 10–15 minutes, and yes—it can be uncomfortable or crampy, kind of like a strong period cramp. It’s typically done between cycle days 6 and 10, after your period but before ovulation, to avoid doing it during an early pregnancy. So if your doctor recommends it, don’t panic. It’s a super useful tool to understand what might be standing in the way of conception. We must make sure the fallopian tubes are open because this is where the egg and the sperm meet. . . #HSGtest #TryingToConceive #FertilityJourney #FertilityTesting #InfertilityAwareness #IVFJourney #TTCcommunity #ReproductiveHealth #FertilityNurse #TheFertilityHive #UterineHealth #BlockedTubes #TTCsupport #WomensHealth #Hysterosalpingogram
