You draw the eyes, nose, and mouth…but somehow the likeness just doesn’t show up. Ever wonder why your portraits don’t look like the person you’re drawing? The features are there, but the face feels off—that’s the struggle every artist knows. When you look at your paper, you are not observing and measuring. You are basically drawing out of your imagination. The first lesson in our new Fall semester is all about seeing. Yes, looking more at the your subject, drawing less. Seems weird right? However, what I see in my classroom is that students look at their paper way to much. In this class you will learn: 1. How to consciously slow down and look. 2. Understand what to look at first, second and third. 3. See the big picture before getting lost in the details. 4. Understand that this lesson should be the hallmark of your practice. Join me in this first class of the Fall semester here on YouTube and start seeing what you have been missing. What the main difference between my YouTube Fall semester and my Fall semester for members of DTO? The members of DTO get their work critiqued. Both during my live class as well as in our critique gallery. I draw over their artwork in photoshop. Students of DTO just improve at a faster pace. Members of DTO get direct access to me via Zoom every week. They also can download their personal video critique every Tuesday. https://members.drawing-tutorials-onl... #portraitdrawinglesson #figuredrawingtutorials #DrawingTutorialsOnline #MatthewArchambault #Howtodrawpeople #PortraitDrawing #pencildrawingtechniques #howtodrawfaces #drawingportraits #how to draw a likeness #howtodrawaccurately
