Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 1991, an incurable and chronic disease, Dr. Jacalyn® has lived for more than three decades navigating flares, remission, and the daily realities of inflammatory bowel disease. This episode explains why awareness, research funding, education, and community support matter — and how collective action moves us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure. This episode also marks the kickoff of Dr. J’s Colitis Crew and the Philadelphia Take Steps Walk campaign. Participants will walk the concourse to visit sponsors, enjoy festival activities, and walk on the field following the program. Accessibility & Support All bathrooms around the concourse will be accessible. EMS and First Aid personnel will be on site throughout the event. ABOUT DR. JACALYN® Dr. Jacalyn® is a board member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, a long-time patient advocate, and Team Captain for the Philadelphia Take Steps Walk. Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 1991, she has dedicated years to raising awareness, supporting research, and ensuring individuals living with IBD are seen, heard, and supported.
