I had this crazy idea to just ask everyone I could reach with a Google form what their absolute favorite video game song was, but keep it totally unrestricted and let people vote for anything. I went through each response by hand and tallied up the most votes and spent the last half of 2023 recording the top 20 as well as making videos for them, releasing each one weekly. The plan all along was to make them into this album for those who want a collection of amazing video game songs from all sorts of games in just one album. Xenoblade and Undertale seemed to dominate the list, and it felt like a tough decision, but I ultimately decided not to instill any one song per franchise rule or anything so that each song could really just stand on its own. I've spent the last 5 months pain stakingly remixing all 20 songs for this project so they can sound the best I could make them without the weekly time constraints. I'm sure there will be people who prefer the old mixes, but I really wanted to make them all consistent. Big thanks to Tide Studio London for mastering these and getting them insanely loud without sacrificing any of the dynamics or quality. I hope this video can be something you put on in the background of your study sessions, exercise, long drives, epic d&d battles, or anywhere you need high energy metal video game remixes.
