The last time I was in Kyiv was in 2017. Coming back now — in 2025 — felt both familiar and completely new. Over 50 hours on the road from Tokyo to Kyiv. This journey was filled with exhaustion, nostalgia, and complex emotions about today’s Ukraine — fear, uncertainty, but also great hope, inspired by the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people. These first four days were full of rehearsals, meetings, photoshoots — and quiet, personal moments that reminded me why I love this place. Kyiv has changed. So have I. But the energy, the kindness, and the inspiration are still here.
