Rumours on the ground in Kabul however, suggest a different story. With exclusive access, Najibullah Quraishi embeds with suspected al Qaeda fighters deep in the remote northern territories to establish whether or not they have the potential to renew their threat to coalition forces. Travelling with them on patrols, Najibullah finds a growing presence of fighters, which is significantly larger than conservative US estimates. Before long, his persistent questions and probing camera become less and less welcome and after the execution of a local man, Najibullah is himself threatened.
