This is my attempt at a tutorial explaining how to perform unintended exits in Super Mario World. Super Mario World is a notoriously glitchy game, allowing the player to go beyond what was intended by the game designers. Normally, there is a total of 96 exits in the game. Over the years, dedicated gamers discovered several Unintended Exits (UEs, see https://pastebin.com/wqk0KfbM). Normally in SMW, when completed all intended 96 exits, the game switches from Spring to Autumn Mode. In reality, Autumn Mode becomes activated when an exit (either a normal or an unintended secret exit) is triggered within the last level of the game, Funky. Personally, I prefer SMW in the default Spring Mode… So Zooshie ( / @nyachloe ) suggested to me (via Discord) to do an unintended secret exit in the prior level, Outrageous – Thanks mate! Doing this, we should get the normal exit of the next level (Funky in this case)… … without actually entering Funky, and thus not switching to Autumn Mode (hopefully…). In this Gamefile, I have done all known Unintended Exits (12 UEs), except the 103rd (Valley of Bowser Star Road Tile) and the 107th (Back Door, secret exit) exits (so 10 UEs in total). However, because the 103rd exit must be done BEFORE the 102nd (Star World Road 2 – TEST level, already done here, see • SMW ǀ Unintended Exits ǀ Star World Warp #... , I cannot go up to A8 exits in this gamefile… :(. This is why I started a new serie of videos on Unintended Exits in the goal to reach A8… For this glitch, we will need a Key in the item box and Keyhole spawned at the Goalpost. First, we have to perform the Powerup Incrementation glitch to get Mario at Power Status 8 (see • SMW ǀ Unintended Powerup State (Powerup In... for tutorial). At Power Status 8, go to Yoshi’s Island 2 to get the Key in the item box (see • SMW ǀ Unintended Item Spawning ǀ (Winged) ... for tutorial). After, repeat Powerup Incrementation to go to Power Status 96. This Power Status allows Mario to spawn a Keyhole at the Goalpost if holding a Shell (see • SMW ǀ Unintended Goalpost Item Spawning (p... for tutorial). Also, PS 96 allows to get the Magikoopa’s Magic in the Item box by collecting a Star (see • SMW ǀ Unintended Item Spawning ǀ Magikoopa... . So, to trigger an unintended secret exit in Outrageous level, first enter the level (cleared) with Yoshi. Grab the second Spring and go to the Goalpost. There, grab the key from the Item box. Perform the unintended secret exit at the Goalpost. This gives the normal exit of the next level, here Funky (the 96th exit). However, here we stay in Spring Mode :)! After saving in Donut Ghost House, we now have A6 exit in the Gamefile :)! And still in Spring Mode! If we do the normal exit of Funky, then the game switches to Autumn mode.
