On May 12, 2008, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) swarmed the Agriprocessors kosher meatpacking plant in Postville and took into custody 389 people, some of whom officials deported and others officials allowed to stay under a variety of circumstances. It's a day that devastated the community, creating an impact still felt in 2013. Five years later, the city is on the path to recovery and looking to a brighter future.
