Silence Must Be - Thierry de Mey for Conductor Solo and Electronic Music (arr. for Percussion Duo) De May has developed a system of musical writing for movement used in pieces where the visual and choreographic aspects are just as important as the gesture producing the sound, such as in Musique de tables (1987), Silence must be! (2002) and Light Music (2004) This piece, dedicated to the Ictus Ensemble, is originally written for Conductor Solo with prerecorded track electronic music, although is often performed as percussion duo, and free choice over the different sounds is given to the players.
