During a routine vehicle checking drive in Kochadhaman, Kishanganj Police intercepted a truck and recovered 12 camels under suspicious circumstances. According to police sources, these camels were being transported from Haryana to Islampur in West Bengal, but authorities suspect that they were meant to be smuggled illegally into Bangladesh. Acting swiftly, the police arrested three smugglers from Uttar Pradesh in connection with this case. Sadar SDPO Gautam Kumar stated that this appears to be a well-organized international camel smuggling racket, and a detailed investigation is currently underway to uncover the entire network, including cross-border links.
