This video is for The Cure. This was the opening track from Robb Roy's 2017 release, Well, There You Have It. The video was created to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the passing of Michael Kudreiko. Mike never got to hear how this song finally came together. We always knew Mike wanted to finish this one off. It was a slight departure for Robb Roy, but something they wanted to bring to life. Special thanks go to Chuck Alkazian for his production work on this. He helped draw out the emotional aspects of this song with his unique ability to find the heart of a song. The song has an old timey sensibility about a damaged man's search for spiritual answers and forgiveness. Why are we here and what are we doing to ourselves? The video is set in 1915 along the banks of the Tombigbee River near Columbus, Mississippi. The visual style is inspired by the large-format documentary photography of O. N. Pruitt. The visuals have a Quiet Southern Gothic atmosphere, slow and contemplative. How far was my fall from grace? How did I reach this place? I’ve lost faith I’ve been disgraced I can’t be saved without the cure I’ve never felt so cheap I’ve been bought and sold My discontent runs deep It creeps through my soul Tell me where did we go wrong? Will it stay this way for long? Can I make a difference with a song?
