The Adani Group has also acquired the Mumbai Airport- the second-largest airport in the country. The airport authority has given a go-ahead for its takeover on 12 January. So far, the Ahmedabad-based Adani Group has made the largest bid for 6 airports. However, a report published in the Indian Express says that the NITI Aayog and Finance Ministry had objected to the bidding process in the year 2019. According to the report, both the FinMin and NITI Aayog had raised a red flag over awarding the bid of 6 airports to the same bidder but it was ignored.
