Just spent a week with this affordable dive watch, or should I say, 'dive-style watch'. Funnily enough, this is the first time I've handled a Seiko 5 Sports model. I've owned a couple of Seiko 5 and JDM Seiko watches, but this line always seemed to elude me. The SRPC51 / SRPC51K1 has been a fun watch to wear. It's definitely one of those timepieces that's not shy to stand out from the crowd. The blue sunburst dial looks very similar to the SBSA003, one of the new Seiko 5KX (SKX replacement) models with the pepsi bezel. Pretty sure it's the same dial being used for these 2 divers, though I may stand to be corrected. What really stood out to me after handling it over the week was the Seiko Monster vibe it kept giving out. The identical hands, slight bezel shroud, and overall presence got me thinking that this would be a great Seiko Monster alternative, especially for those who aren't looking to spend Seiko Monster money. The build quality and finish of the watch head is very nice for the price. The dial, hands, and indexes are beautiful, and the movement is accurate to 2spd. The only downsides of the watch to me were the slightly disappointing bezel action and bracelet quality. However, if you're looking for a watch that's out of the norm and at the affordable end of the spectrum, this SRPC51 could very well deserve a spot on the list of best dive watches under $200. Here are some specs:- Case Diameter: 44.5mm Case Thickness: 13mm Movement: Seiko 4R36 with 24 Jewels Crystal: Hardlex Lume: Lumibrite on the hands And indexes Crown: Screw Down Case Back: See Through Water Resistance: 100M Thanks once again to Melvin for loaning me this watch for review.
