This brand new Sony FE70-200mm f/2.8GM II lens was announced on Oct. 13, 2021 at 10am EST. I was able to shoot with it for about 20 days. I tackled all kinds of various shoots to really try to understand this new lens in relation to the rest of my lenses. It will certainly find a home in my bag and the venerable 135GM may find itself sitting at the office when a more versatile lens is needed for certain assignments. It works amazingly well with both the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, as well as with the SONY FX9 video camera. This is a strong sports, action, and birds in flight lens that can also be used for other types of photography like portraits, weddings, photojournalism, and even product photography.
