How easy is it to cross over from the wavepool to the ocean? That's actually simple to answer: there is no substitute for time in the ocean and all the ocean craft surfers need to know. The wavepool is an amazing 'gym' that accelerates on wave progression like you never thought possible when combine video analysis and good coaching. But there is no shortcut for getting into the ocean and learning about line ups, reading the wave and all the variables the ocean has to offer.
