Cayo Jutías is a place where you can discover some of the best beaches in Cuba, with its turquoise waters and white sand. From Vinales it is just 50km, but it takes couple of hours to get there, mainly due to terrible road condition, but definitely the trip is worth it! Cayo Jutías (Jutias Cay), one of the main keys that make up the Los Colorados archipelago, is located on the northern coast of Pinar del Río province. This island of virgin white sand is a haven of peace and tranquillity. In addition, in one of its beaches you will find a rare treasure: beautiful starfish. And not only that, we were able to admire the beauty of numerous mangroves along the whole length of the coast. On the way back we could enjoy views of magnificent karst valley of Vinales with steep flat hills (mogote) and we have visited one of the largest caves in Latin America - Cueva del Indio. Cave was rediscovered in 1920 and takes its name from the fact that, in pre-colonial times, it seems to have served as a home for the indigenous inhabitants of the area. The appeal to most visitors is that, unlike most caves networks, this one involves a boat ride lasting approximately 400 metres along a subterranean river.
