Love and God’ Untold Story: Today, we are going to tell you about a Bollywood film that took 23 years to be made. Not only that, there are some facts connected to this film that will truly astonish you. So, let’s take a closer look at this film in detail. Love and God (also known as “Kais Aur Laila”) is a 1986 Indian Hindi-language film and the final project produced and directed by K. Asif. It was his only directorial venture to be made entirely in color. Through this film, Asif aimed to present the legendary love story of Laila Majnu, with Nimmi starring as Laila and Sanjeev Kumar as Qais, also known as Majnu. Production began in 1963, but the film faced a long and troubled journey. The original lead actor, Guru Dutt, passed away during production, followed by Asif’s own death in 1971. The film was later revived and released in an incomplete form on 27 May 1986. Tragically, by the time of its release, lead actor Sanjeev Kumar had died six months earlier, and Nimmi had already retired from films more than a decade before.
