26th November 2025 - The Indian Pacific on the West - Tumulla Bank to Penrith in 4K HDR

Very early on the morning of 26th November we drove west to Tumulla Bank to record a very long Indian Pacific travelling into Sydney. Our aim was to get some shots that highlighted the length of the train in the early morning light. Just on dawn the Indian began its descent of the bank, crossing SSR service 8877 in the loop at Georges Plains. We then travelled east to get two more shots of the train on the big curves at Locksley and Sodwalls. Having these key shots safely in the bag we then followed the train to Penrith. Our next shot was at Bowenfels, but after a long stop at Mount Victoria, the train travelled down the mountains during the heavy morning peak traffic, so that we were only able to get shots at Warrimoo and the Nepean River on this part of its journey.
