The last stretch of our Namibia trip takes us to Etosha National Park. We stayed here for 4 nights driving from West to East. The first night we camped at Okaukuejo, I would rate this the best campsite between the 3 we stayed at. The water hole here is very popular with game and large mammals. We were fortunate to have a close encounter with a rhino a mear meter or two from us. The only lion sighting we encountered was a few kilometers from camp on our first day in the park. Our second camp was Halali, the waterhole has a amphitheater, which makes for a great place to sit down with a drink and watch the sun go down. But game numbers are generally much lower than at Okaukuejo. We spent two nights at Namutoni. This waterhole has lots of reeds and is generally very good for bird watching, but less so for large mammals. We had the most elephant and giraffe sightings in this part of the park. From Etosha, we drove back to Windhoek and stayed at UrbanCamp (a hidden gem), centrally located, well hidden, and situated in the heart of Windhoek and a 5min walk to Joe’s Beerhouse - that we just had to visit again! From here, we took the road the Keetmanshoop to the Quivertree Forest and Giants Playground (The playground is said to have formed about 180 million years ago) After watching the sunset behind the Quiver trees and walking the playground maze the next morning, we hit the road again to the Canyon Roadhouse. We had a very peaceful stay here for 2 nights and drove out to the Fish River Canyon to view the last sunset in Namibia over the canyon - a nostalgic moment. Namibia has been a wonderful experience - we will definitely be back soon. We traveled here from 25 March - 15 April 2023 - it's considered not the best time to visit, especially for Etosha - but we had incredible weather. No wind, not too hot and crowded a little rain in Etosha, but overall perfect conditions. __________ 0:00 Intro 0:27 Entering Etosha 00:49 Okaukuejo & driving 01:57 Halali & driving 05:08 Etosha Pan 06:46 Namutoni & driving 11:01 Leaving the Park 12:42 Quivertree Forest 14:30 Giants Playground 15:28 Canyon Roadhouse 16:34 Fish River Canyon 17:39 Driving back home __________ Etosha Campsites: https://etoshanationalpark.co.za/etos...
