This silent captioned demo is just 5 mins long but should give you a good overview of what the new ‘Riffler Flow’ app (iPad / iPhone / M1 Mac https://apps.apple.com/app/riffler-fl...) by Riffler dev Jonathan Bell can do. Basically it is a version of Riffler aimed at people who want to produce less heavy stuff than the original Riffler app. It comes with a wide variety of presets, mostly categorized by genre, has some really nice inbuilt guitar sounds, including some cool ones like various reversed guitars. It also has some other sounds apart from guitar, but I would definitely recommend just using it to send midi to synths or other instruments of your choice if you want it to play things other than guitar. Likewise, the drums are just there as a rough guide, perhaps to jam along with, but will definitely not replace using your own proper drum sounds in any tracks you make. Note that it has keys but does not have scales and modes, like the original Riffler had. Instead, it is based on progressions, which can either be dialled in algorithmically by trying various settings of the Character, Complexity and Changes knobs, or entered manually. There is also a knob for doing transposition. Overall, I really like it, and could see myself using it a lot, both on its own and to send midi to other apps. It’s very, very musical.
