I made this video a while back and deleted it because in my head it wasn't good enough. I'm posting it again now because as I watch it again, I love that I finally got in the right headspace and just started creating art. Some of these shots and actually super cinematic and filmed on one of my favorite and least favorite additions to the camera roster, the Canon 7D (although most are out of focus). This was before magic lantern was even in the conversation for me, realistically (although I probably mention it in this video). This was just me taking time to create a video that I'm sure was worlds better in my head. But, none of that matters. What matters is that I made another video about the Canon 7D and it quickly became the most popular video on my channel so far. But even that's not the important part. The Canon 7D isn't what's important here. What's important is that a photography tool that was new to me but old to the world, got me excited about filmmaking again and rather than sit still and ponder on what I should make, I just made something and I am proud of that more than anything else. I say all this to say, if you are stuck and feel like none of your ideas are good enough to post on YouTube, I challenge you to post them anyway. If people say they don't like it, keep making stuff until you prove the haters wrong. No, everything you make will not be for everyone, but you won't ever know if it could have been for someone if you never put it out into the world. Even as I write this description, I find myself feeling more creative than I felt at the time of making this video and now I'm curious to see what would happen if I get back into writing. Thank you so much for all of your support and be sure to comment below what filmmaking tool gets you most excited to create a film or take a banger photo. I want to hear from you!
