Over 2,300 miles. Across ten states. Through heat, rain, snow, injury, and loss. This walk was not a protest. It carried no slogans, no demands, and no political agenda. For the monks, this was a form of walking practice — an ancient Buddhist ascetic tradition, known as dhutanga — a way of training the mind through simplicity, endurance, and mindful presence. They walked day by day, step by step, treating each breath as a vow, and each step as a quiet prayer for peace. They accepted no money. Only simple offerings: food, water, and flowers.
