The Human Rights Festival 2023 Recap Footage

Inspired by the work of social justice organizations, Constitution Hill hosted the 5th edition of the Human Rights Festival. From 24-26 March 2023. The festival aims to build greater awareness and knowledge around human rights and promote the importance of an active citizenry in the realization of human rights by bringing together community-based organizations, social movements, non-governmental organizations, and international non-governmental organizations, to discuss challenges facing our country and the world, and how best civil society can coordinate its efforts to bring about lasting and consequential change. Workshops and seminars will be led by human rights experts, activists, artists and organizations to provide a platform for attendees to learn more about specific human rights issues and engage in meaningful discussions on contemporary issues. The Skills lab provided practical skills for activists. The cultural program included film, music, poetry, books, storytelling and exhibitions to create intersectional stories and content addressing issues of migration, climate, gender and racial justice and to further engage audiences on issues of Human Rights. #HumanRightsFestival #standup4humanrights Footage shot by: Minenhle Memela
