Restaurant, Zoo Visit & Exploring Uganda’s Airport City 🇺🇬 Day 16 of Africa Bicycle Tour | One Day Trip from Kampala to Entebbe After staying a few days in busy Kampala, today I took a peaceful and refreshing day trip to Entebbe — a beautiful lakeside town that holds Uganda’s only international airport and is known for its clean streets, fresh air, and friendly people. 🛣️ I left Kampala in the morning after a light breakfast, and traveled to Entebbe using the Express Highway — a fast, smooth road that takes about 40 minutes. The fare was just 5,000 Ugandan Shillings, and it felt like a luxury ride after days of cycling muddy and busy roads. 🥘 In Entebbe, I met with a Nepali brother who introduced me to a Nepalaya Restaurant — a place proudly run by Nepalis living in Uganda. I met the owner, who warmly welcomed me and shared his story. It was heart-touching to see Nepali culture alive in Africa — momo, dal bhat, and tea in a land far from home. 🦁 After lunch, I went to the famous Entebbe Zoo (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre) with the brother’s son. The ticket cost was $10, and it was totally worth it. Inside, I saw: Lions, tigers, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, and chimpanzees A clean and well-managed environment, perfect for kids and tourists A peaceful walk with nature near the shores of Lake Victoria 🌇 In the evening, I returned to Kampala with great memories, smiling faces, and more love for Uganda’s peaceful side.
