“Don’t Let It Bother You” is a cheerful tune by Mack Gordon and Harry Revel, written in 1934 for the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers picture, “The Gay Divorcee.” It’s the opening sequence and it sets the scene for a scintillating and playful tap number for Astaire. In 1934, pianist Thomas “Fats” Waller - who had already made a name for himself on radio, through his popular songs (“Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Black and Blue”) and his fantastic stride piano sides - started recording with a band, which he dubbed His Rhythm, with which he was to record hundreds of tunes over the following eight years for the Victor label. Their 1934 recording “Don’t Let It Bother You” was one of the early recordings of this swinging group. ▶️ If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe to our channel! ▶️ If you like the music we play (four-hands piano, classic jazz, stride piano, swing, blues, boogie woogie, ragtime, and the Great American Songbook), please visit us here: https://www.trickalderighi.com/ ▶️ Subscribe to our newsletter: http://www.paoloandstephanie.com/contact 🔶 Become part of our Patreon family! 🔶 Learn about the different benefits here: / trickalderighi Thank you so much for watching! ✨
