Hurricane Mountain - Adirondack Park, New York | Lake Placid 9ers | Adirondack High Peaks

This hike was for sure the most outstanding of our weekend in the Adirondacks! What made it more outstanding was the fact that it was totally socked in until we started climbing up the fire-tower around 10am ,and right as we got to the summit we saw a few breaks of blue. Within about 15 minutes the entire valley opened up on all sides providing outstanding 360° from the tower and ledges! The tops of many of the High Peaks were a bit clouded but we could pick out a good chunk of them including Giant, Dix, Nippletop, Colvin, Sawteeth, and Whiteface to name a few. It’s easy to see why this is regarded as one of the finest views in the park and as always it was a pleasure sharing the trails with my “brothers-from-another-mother”!
