It's a fact that the scriptures do not directly teach that God is a plurality of persons, Jesus is homoousious or equal with the Father, and many other essential claims. Given the fact the writers of scripture used language which consistently represents, speaks of, and records God's own words as one person, Trinitarians are just assuming that Jesus being God like YHWH doesn't entail modalism, or oneness. Trinitarianism is truly functionally Unitarian in regards to the being of God, and functionally polytheistic in regards to the persons!
