IN early 1997, a band called the Verve Pipe released a dark and wondrous song called the Freshmen it was the third single from their second studio album called Villains , the song became the band's breakthrough as it went to #1 on the Alternative charts, #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 6 in Canada, and number 28 in Australia. It was a song that started quite a few urban legends of what people thought it meant. I’ve heard at least 3 or 4 different myths about what the song means.
