Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy leading to Extensive inferior contraction and Tractional Retinal Detachment. Patient was treated 5 days prior to surgery with Anti Vegf injection to reduce the incidence of peroperative bleeding. 25 gauge vitrectomy was carried out. Hyaloid was gradually segmented and cut from various attachments. Thick inferior contraction was explored. After dissection of hyaloid the contraction persisted and a decision to make a inferior retinectomy to relax that area was made. Diathermy was applied in the area where retinectomy was planed. PFCL was used to stabilise the posterior pole. After relaxing the retina a 360 degree endo laser barrage was carried out and then a pfcl air exchange followed by silicon oil air exchange was done . www.retinafoundation.com
