The Suitcase Junket's brand-new single "Dandelion Crown" – the first hit off the highly-anticipated album MEAN DOG, TRAMPOLINE (out April 5, 2019). "I’ve been blessed in my career as a producer to have worked with some remarkable artists, but I have never worked with anyone quite like Matt Lorenz/ The Suitcase Junket. Besides making the complexity of everything he does look effortless, he’s a truly gifted singer and an amazing songwriter. We had a blast making this record and I’m anxious to share it with the world." -- Steve Berlin Mean Dog, Trampoline Produced by Steve Berlin (Jackie Greene, Rickie Lee Jones, Leo Kottke) of Los Lobos, Mean Dog, Trampoline marks a deliberate departure from the self-recorded, homespun approach of The Suitcase Junket’s previous efforts. In creating the album, Matt Lorenz pulled from a fantastically patchwork sonic palette, shaping his songs with elements of jangly folk, fuzzed-out blues, and oddly textured psych-rock. Engineered by Justin Pizzoferrato (Dinosaur Jr., Speedy Ortiz) and mixed by Vance Powell (Jack White, Houndmouth), Mean Dog, Trampoline preserves The Suitcase Junket’s unkempt vitality, but ultimately emerges as his most powerfully direct album so far. Dandelion Crown Matt Lorenz covers heavy terrain on “Dandelion Crown” instilling empathy into a loving and nuanced portrait of addiction. Here, Lorenz is joined by Kate Lorenz who sings the gorgeously close harmonies that only a sibling can deliver. “That song came from thinking about how you can lose control of your life by degrees, until you don’t even recognize yourself anymore,” says Lorenz. “But there’s still a little redemption in there—those moments when things become sweet and clear again, despite the fact that you’re permanently changed as a person.” Music performed and written by: Matt Lorenz Directed/Edited by: Kelsey O’Brien – Back Bar Productions Production Support: Georgia Rae Teensma Released on Signature Sounds
