As someone speaking from many years of experience, here are the pros and cons. CONS ❌ I was not as strong as I would’ve been if I was sober. I don't know why, I just couldn’t lift as heavy. ❌ I couldn't push as hard till failure. The burn in the muscle is so intense that it's hard to push past that pain point to get those last few reps out. ❌ You can get distracted. When you're baked, you go on your phone and it’s like a time warp. You can get sucked in and completely lose your pump. PROS ✅ You get a great mind to muscle connection. So when you are doing your reps at the gym, you feel that shit like you've never felt it before. Where normally you were able to get 12 reps… You can only get like 9 or 10 reps because it's harder to deal with that sensation. It feels WAY more intense. ✅ It made me antisocial So I would throw my headphones on, play a banger and I would be locked into my workout. So in general, I would say smoking weed before the gym is unhelpful. If your goal is to maximize muscle mass, you need to lift heavy and train hard at the gym.
