Welcome back to The Curtain Boutique! On the bench today: We are making thermal-lined Pinch Pleat Curtains. What width does your curtain have to be? Calculations EXAMPLE 140cm pole width you need each curtain to be 70cm wide Use 1.5 widths of fabric for each curtain Finished width of curtain 200cm Minus 2x returns (8cm each side) = 184cm Minus 70cm (finished width of curtain) = 114 114 divided by 6 (amount of pleats needed for 1.5 widths) = 19cm for each pleat. To do the spaces Divide your curtain width amount into 5 70cm divided by 5 = 14cm for spaces So you have 2 x returns of 8cm 16cm’s 5 x spaces of 14cm 70cm’s 6 x pleats of 19cm. 114cm’s Total width of curtain. 200cm’s #SewAlong with us!
