As the book of Micah comes to a close, the prophet brings his message full circle by answering the question embedded in his own name: Who is like the Lord? In Micah 7:8–20, we see the uniqueness of God displayed through judgment, deliverance, and mercy. This sermon traces Micah’s final movement from lament to hope, showing how God remains sovereign even in judgment, faithful as a shepherd to His people, and glorious in salvation. Though Jerusalem must bear the discipline it deserves, the Lord does not abandon His people. He pleads their cause, restores them, and ultimately casts their sins into the depths of the sea. Micah ends not with despair, but with praise—pointing us forward to the fullness of God’s mercy revealed in Jesus Christ, the true Shepherd and Passover Lamb. This passage reminds us that there is no one like the Lord: sovereign in rule, patient in discipline, rich in steadfast love, and mighty to save.
