Meet Mayizole, a student at Christel House South Africa – a non-profit, no-fee school in Ottery, Cape Town, South Africa. Mayizole comes from Langa, a community that faces many struggles. He loves coding and dreams of becoming an engineer. Christel House is a global non-profit organisation that operates nine schools around the world. We serve students from some of the most under-resourced communities on the Cape Flats by supporting them for 19 years (Grade RR to Grade 12 and five years post-school) through character-based and career-focused education. Christel House’s mission is to ensure that our graduates achieve upward economic mobility, demonstrate good citizenship, and are empowered to identify and realize their goals, dreams, and human potential. In this video, Mayizole takes you on his Christel House journey, showcasing all the holistic support and opportunities the he and his fellow students receive, from daily transport and nutritious meals, to professional healthcare and career planning. We enroll 840+ students from Grade RR to 12, and provide structured post-school mentorship and support to our 220+ alumni to ensure that they find gainful employment.
