Kerri Martin shares her experience of creating a bike-centric community in and around Asbury Park, as told through chalk. Kerri Martin grew up in Freehold, NJ and graduated from The College of New Jersey. Upon leaving the Garden State, she traveled and studied around the world before finding herself back in New Jersey in 2003. In 2006, Kerri took her love of bicycles and founded Second Life Bikes, a youth earn-a-bike program and community bike shop in Asbury Park, NJ. Her existence on this planet is dominated by fixing, riding, building, racing, talking about, thinking about and promoting bicycles. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
