Straight to the point guys, I reckon that city centre - to city centre, this train is much much quicker than flying. I travelled from Euston up to Crewe to see if it really could do this first part of the journey in 1 hour 30 minutes. Believe me, it was a pretty exhilarating non-stop dash up through central England and for a price which I thought was great value compared to the much slower trains that you can opt for on this route. After Crewe, the train stops a couple of times before arriving into Manchester, giving it a total journey time of 2 hours 6 minutes. So come with me for this trip, I'll take a look at what you get for your money and show you around the train. You will also get a good idea of the class 390 Pendolino's tilting mechanism as we power through the curves at speeds of up to 125 mph!
