Episode 2: Clinical Trials 101 — Understanding the Basics This introductory session talks deeper about clinical trials, how to approch your oncologist, and how to navigate the Trican Health website to find the right match for you. You’ll learn: The key parts of a clinical trial — phases, eligibility, treatment groups, and why enrollment sizes vary How to navigate clinical trials using TriCan's easy-to-use website How to identify options that may fit your diagnosis and care goals What happens after you find a potential trial, including contacting the site and the enrollment process How to prepare for a clinical trial (what records to gather and what questions to ask) What participation typically looks like — timelines, visits, testing, and follow-ups Presenters in this episode: Kimya Harris, PhD Co-Fouunder & CEO Trican Health Kimya and Mike are patient navigation specialists with TriCan Health, where they help individuals and families understand clinical trial options and take practical next steps in their care journey. In this session, they’ll walk attendees through the TriCan platform in real time, showing how patients can search for trials, understand eligibility, and begin the process of connecting with study sites.
