This was one of the biggest tournaments of the year for kayak anglers in Florida! The 2025 BASSMASTER Kayak Series on the Kissimmee Chain! Looking back on the tournament, I only had two days to practice for the event. I caught a few fish here and there but I never found anything to be excited about. So, on day one I decided to fish Tiger Lake, a lake I had never been on. The first few hours of the tournament flew by without a single bite. Then, I got my first bite flipping a beaver to a patch of Arrowheads. I kept the flipping stick in my hand the rest of the day and ended up with a respectable 85.25". On day two I decided to move lakes once again, this time to Lake Marion. Another small body of water, I would learn that Marion was much further along in the spawning process than Tiger Lake. I started off throwing a spinnerbait over some grass patches and caught a small 14" bass immediately. I thought it was going to be an epic day but it didn't pan out like I had hoped. There were a bunch of other anglers around me who were in contention to win the event, and the last thing I wanted to do was get in their way. It seemed like they were primarily fishing scattered pads outside of spawning areas and they weren't spending much time fishing the bank. So, I decided to spend a lot of time looking for fish up shallow on beds. I found a few, including a 22.25" MONSTER that I caught within 10 minutes of finding. It wasn't a bad day of fishing but it wasn't epic either. I ended the day with 87.50", not enough to get into check range. I had a blast exploring the Kissimmee Chain. It's completely different from what I'm used to back home in Texas. I wasn't exactly thrilled with my results, finishing 39th out of 223, but with how bad my practice was I really can't complain too much. I learned a lot from the guys who won and I'll be more prepared the next go round. Thanks for watching! Links: Instagram: / pinkerton_outdoors Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
