Sir Keir Starmer attended Prime Minister's Questions today (February 4) and answered questions on Peter Mandelson's ties with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. Earlier this week, Downing Street issued a statement after it was confirmed that Peter Mandelson will quit the House of Lords amid fallout from the latest release of files linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Lord Mandelson has been accused of passing market-sensitive information to paedophile financier Mr Epstein. The latest release of documents from the so-called Epstein files by the US Department of Justice apparently showed Lord Mandelson passing material to Epstein while serving as business secretary in Gordon Brown’s Labour administration as it dealt with the 2008 financial crash and its aftermath. The Cabinet Office said it passed material to the police after an initial review of the documents found they contained “likely market-sensitive information”. Sir Keir Starmer had threatened to strip Lord Mandelson of his title, stating that he had “let his country down”.
