Played on MAME 0.256 Whereas RF2's Expert mode focused on extremely fast revenge bullets this one is...kind of the opposite, and personally I don't find it as fun. Here, the revenge bullets are extremely slow and the danger comes from accidentally flooding the screen with them getting in the way. Normally the solution here is to just seal the revenge bullets, however the sealing range in Jet is much smaller than that of RF2 and several (almost all of them) midsize enemies aren't completely sealable. Pair that with how busy the stages are and the slave ships end up being the only viable options thanks to the wide shot and strong damage. Technically the Judge Spear slave is the best for the job due to its bomb, but considering how often you have to squeeze between lots of slow bullets I seriously didn't want to use that lol, so Hell Diver (3rd fastest) was serviceable enough. Chaser 2000 slave is also fine I guess (I was using that initially) but anything slower will probably suffer too much in stuff like the Phase 1 stage. At the end of level 45 I trigger the wrong slave formation (I wanted the one with the lasers) and accidentally grab the spare bomb so I'm behind my usual route by 2 bombs. I guess I could have tried staying at the bottom and dodge but this boss is complete bullshit and I didn't even care about risking it lol. Phase 2 stage went surprisingly well especially the second half, the hallway part feels like the worst section in the entire game and tends to go incredibly wrong with just a single death.
