Rehab of Akansokoshi dam in Luwingu completed

By Penlope Sikazwe Rehabilitation Works on the Akansokoshi dam in Luwingu district, Northern Province, have been completed. The works on the dam, carried out by the Zambia National Service –ZNS- begun in 2022 at a cost of over two Million kwacha. And Water Development Minister COLLINS NZOVU, who toured the dam, said he is impressed with the works done by the ZNS. Mr NZOVU said the project needs to be handed over to the community as soon as possible to encourage fish farming and other agriculture activities. He further said the completion of the project is clear evidence that emergency drought response measures are working and can be done within set timelines.
