!!! READ FIRST TO UNDERSTAND THE STORYLINE !!! Hey guys :) it's a EternalSunshine!AU. No superpowers, I'm sorry. First, I wanted to keep all the MARVEL universe but it was too heavy... so I come to you with a complete alternative universe. I hope you're not disappointed. You want to know what the song is, which movies I used... Everything is in the end credits ;) Edit: Most of you didn't watch or remember the movie so I write a storyline for you =) Tony knows something is missing in his life and the only way to erase this feeling is to get drunk or to go to the shore. Steve awakes disheveled; impulsively, he skips work, heading instead the airport. They meet there in the rain. Tony says something about what Steve draws but Steve is withdrawn. The next day, he offers to take him home, playful. Tony accept cause he sort of likes him. He doesn't know why but gives him his number. When Steve calls him, he feels like he finds what he lost. They don't know that they were mates in the past. Long before the airport [Steve is crying in his car, angry, reckless. This relationship didn't work anymore but he still loves Tony. Tony can't stand to argue everytime about everything with Steve. It's hurt too much so he has his memories of their tumultuous relationship erased. When he wakes up, he doesn't remember Steve but knows something is missing in his life and the only way to erase this feeling is to get drunk or to go to the shore. Steve sees Tony with a girl and the man "pretends" to not know him. He discovers that his boyfriend has undergone a psychiatrist's experimental procedure in which all of his memory of Steve is removed. Out of desperation by the idea of still being in love with Tony who doesn't remember him, Steve agrees to undergo the procedure as well, to erase his memories of Tony.] The film Eternal sunshine, which takes place mostly within Joel's mind, follows his memories of Clementine backwards in time as each recent memory is replaced, and the procedure then goes on to the previous one, which is likewise seen, and then erased. Once the process starts, however, he realizes he doesn't really want to forget Clementine, so he starts smuggling her away into parts of his memory where she doesn't belong which alters other things about his memories as well... But I choose to show you Tony's mind as well cause I love his story, his parents Maria and Howard. I didn't exactly make the memories of their story in reverse. You can see a black border sometimes in the edges of the screen. These passages aren't only memories but Tony and Steve changing things in their mind, trying to escape erasing. [You can discover they argued because of their radically different personalities. I did a mash-up scene Tony pretends to be dead and Steve can't ignore how immature he is. A similar scene is in the movie. It doesn't matter what Tony does, it's always the wrong thing. One day, Steve attemps suicide and Tony feels like shit and realizes how much he loves him. Maybe he has to protect Steve from him? The precessus goes on and Tony and Steve remember why they fell in love and they don't want to let go. From deep within the recesses of their brain, they attempt to escape the procedure. Steve brings Tony (he's not really Tony but a projection of Tony from Steve's mind!) to somewhere he don't belong: the most shameful memory he has. Tony shows Steve (he's not really Steve but a projection of Steve from Tony's mind!) the last time he saw his mother alive. He remembers how he was as a kid, wanting to be a magician... There is a scene about a kid riding a bike. This is Tony trying to escape, to find the ocean because this is one of the most beautiful memories he had of Steve. But it doen't work... You can see a kid falling and another help him or two boys holding hands etc... these aren't memories. Steve fail to hide Tony, he knows doctors find him. Everything is falling apart, memories are erased but Steve tries to run. The moment when you see the car falling in the lake, Tony is not in his mind anymore.] The scene with Tony jumping in the swimming-pool and Steve waking up is NOW. It's kind of a reminiscence. One of psychiatrist quits his job and steals the company's records, then sends them out to all clients of the company. Tony and Steve come upon their records shortly after they meet in the airport. They react with shock. Tony wants to start over and Steve initially resists, pointing out it could go the same way.
